During this half day experience, you will get the chance to run more rapids, surf waves and gain more skills.
Our specialist sit on top kayaks are especially suited to white water kayaking. Let our instructors teach you the basics and help you experience the thrill of the rapids of the River Dee right here on site in Llangollen. Recommended for larger groups.
Upon arrival report to reception where you will meet your instructor, who will get you kitted out with everything you need. Once you are changed we head straight out the river which runs through our site. We get you afloat and teach you some basic kayaking skills along with some essential safety information. Then we head onto the rapids for exhilarating fun & challenges. Along the way the instructors will keep honing your techniques and make sure you stay safe. At the end of the session, we return to the centre to get changed.

This session is run entirely on our site, we own the riverbanks for a 300-metre stretch and can re-paddle rapids if we like.
Occasionally due to high river levels we may run this session elsewhere, you will be informed of everything by your instructor.
The session is 3 hours long which accounts for time getting changed, kitted up and safety briefings.
Swimwear – this is to wear underneath your wetsuit.
Good fitting shoes that can get wet with a solid sole – we find that old trainers are best. No sandals, flip-flops or crocs.
Towel to dry yourself afterwards
Personal medication – your instructor can ensure this is suitably waterproofed if you need to have it with you at all times.
Kayaks – Whitewater Sit On Top Kayaks. We have different size boats depending on your size.
Paddles – We have lightweight paddles specifically designed for this purpose.
Bouyancy Aid – Our whitewater specific bouyancy aids keep you afloat if you fall in.
Helmets – Our helmets come in two sizes and adjust to fit your head perfectly
Wetsuits – We have wetsuits of all sizes and in colder weather we have some windproof jackets too.
All of our instructors are highly experienced and have been trained and assessed to national governing body standards. They will always have your enjoyment and safety as their top priority.
You do not need any previous experience for this session.
This is suitable for anyone aged 7 or over. All children must be accompanied by an adult, we can organise sessions for groups of children but it helps to know in advance so we can make special provisions.
All of our equipment is chosen to be fit for purpose and is safety checked. You may bring your own equipment with you but using it will be at the instructor’s discretion.
We run this session to a ratio of 1:6 so there may be other people with you. We never mix certain groups such as school groups with stag/hen groups etc.. If you want a private session, please call us and we will try our best to help.
It is not the aim of the session to capsize but it may happen – you will be given instructions on what to do if this does happen and our instructors will get sorted and kayaking again right away.
Not at all, your buoyancy aid has more than enough floatation and our instructors will help at all times.
We sell waterproof phone cases which are suitable to keep your phone safe and dry. Your instructor may take some photos if they have the opportunity.
