For many, Mile End Mill is the perfect whitewater venue in the UK. Clean river water 365 days a year, stable waves and features, as well as a variety of rapids – great for mini river trips or coaching days.

Rescue Services

Mile End Mill is available to all Rescue Services to use for their Swift Water Courses.

As well as deep moving water 365 days a year – we have a dedicated training spaces, drying room and catering facilities available.

What does the fee cover?

The money you pay covers car parking, and use of our changing rooms & toilets. As well as giving you permission to access the river and the banks from ‘Tombstones’ weir down to ‘Bottom Wave’. This allows you to freely access both banks to inspect, set up safety and re-run rapids as many times as you like.

Ultimately Mile End Mill is a private venue and probably unique in that it is managed by three paddlers who believe in making it the best it can be. Your fees help pay the rent and upkeep ensuring it remains in the hands of paddlers and people who care – so far we have re-invested all water fees we’ve received into maintenance of the site for paddling.

How To Pay –

During the Day 9am till 5pm –

Please park sensibly and come to reception to pay your fees – Per person, and the driver needs to enter their details into the Parking system.

Out of hours – 5pm till 9am

Use the link that is on the signs around the carpark. This allows you to pay for your visit – per person, Each person enters the vehicle details that they are in.

Why ANPR for the car park?

Sadly so many people are using the site and not paying, that we have decided to go down the Parking Company route. This will not effect anyone who pays to use the site, and hopefully will encourage more people to pay and therefore we can do more upgrades and reinvestment to the site. We still reinvest 100% of the water fees into maintaining and developing the site for its users.

Membership of Mile End Mill

For many reasons we have decided to set up a membership process here at Mile End Mill. It’s a really easy system for you, It costs you nothing and offers a few useful benefits as well – such was :

Speeds up “signing-in” and getting on the water
Allows us to Email you with any important safety announcements relating to the river
You get a river loyalty card – every 9th visit free
You get a coffee loyalty card – every 7th hot drink free

When you next sign in here, we will ask you to re- read the site rules, and fill in the membership form. We will then give you a membership card.

From then on, when you come to sign in, all you will need to do is show your membership card and pay, no more forms to fill in. Simples .
