This course is designed for confident indoor climbers, who are ready to transition to outdoor climbing.
In this day long course, we will use all your indoor climbing skill and abilities and adapt them to outdoor climbing.
We will:
Make sure you’re confident belaying
Learn how to climb on rock
Learn to read routes
Use a guidebook and find routes suitable for your abilities
Learn climbing etiquette and environmental issues at the crag
Practice your new skills
The instructor will tailer the day to the groups wants and needs.

We will meet on-site at:
TNR Outdoors,
Berwyn Street,
Llangollen,
LL20 8AD
One of our local climbing crags (such as Trevor Quarry).
We may require customers to drive their own vehicles to the venue, please let us know in advance if this is not possible.
Full day, 7 hours
Start – 09.30
Finish – 16.30
TNR will provide all safety equipment such as harnesses, helmets and all climbing equipment.
You are welcome to bring and use your own harness and helmet, providing your instructor deems it safe to use.
We run this session to a ratio of 1:10 so there may be other people with you. We never mix certain groups such as school groups with stag/hen groups etc..
If you want a private session, please call us and we will try our best to help.
Clothing appropriate to the weather conditions
(warm layers, waterproof)
Sturdy footwear (to walk to the crag and climb in – not walking boots)
Suncream
Enough water for the day
Lunch and Snacks
This will be run by a well experienced and qualified instructors who have a genuine interest in the sport.
You don’t need to be a great climber, but you do need to be able to confidently climb indoors
Yes, you do need to be able to confidently belay.
This is suitable for a minimum age of 12 years old, providing they are a confident indoor climber.
