During this awesome new addition to the adventures offered in Llangollen, you’ll run the rapids from the mighty serpent’s tail down to our home at the Mile End Mill whitewater site.
Get ready to surf waves and experience the multiple rapids and small drops of the River Dee with the best Point of View, lying on your belly level with the water and action!
It is the perfect mix of excitement and adventure. Using our specialist bodyboats, you will experience the rapids of the River Dee in extreme POV, getting the best thrill from the safety of a full-length bodyboard.
Similar to kayaking – but completely different, you’ll tackle the rapids Motor Museum, Camp Site, Tombstones, Ski Slope & Factory Falls from a totally new vantage!
Suitable for ages 10 and upwards
When you arrive at our Llangollen White water centre you will be greeted by our friendly river guides who will get you signed in and promptly equipped and ready for your white water adventure. The session takes place on grade 2-3 rapids of the River Dee in North Wales. We have three major rapids on our site which the session is based around these rapids are called Tomb Stones, Ski Slope/ Middle Wave and Factory Falls. You will start the session in a calm pool and learn some basic manoeuvring strokes before tackling running the drops and surfing the waves.

This session is run entirely on our site. We own the riverbanks for a 300-metre stretch and can re-paddle rapids if we like.
Occasionally due to high river levels we may run this session elsewhere, you will be informed of everything by your instructor.
The session is 3 hours long which includes 10 minutes to get changed.
We will supply you with a wetsuit, a white water PFD, webbed gloves, and a Bodyboat of course. Depending on the quantity of “sense of adventure” mentioned above there will be terrific banter and questionable jokes
You will need to bring Swimwear (we thankfully do not provide this) you will need to bring a pair of trainers or water shoes that fit securely, no crocs even the danger strap will not save your boot or dignity! You will also need to bring a towel, and a sense of adventure. During cooler months thermal base layers are recommended for those that are more sensitive to cold
Your Bodyboat adventure will be staffed by a safe, qualified and highly experienced white water professional. Many of our Bodyboat instructors also , axe-throwing and air rifle instructors are also raft guides, climbers, and kayakers too.
Yes. You will get very wet.
As stated above you will get wet depending on the time of year it can be cool. We supply you with thick wetsuits, neoprene gloves and socks. It is an active session, so you get warm once you are moving.
Accompanied children from 8 years old are welcome.
No. Our awesome PFDs will keep you afloat if you fall off your boadyboat. We have a small guest to instructor ratio, so you are looked after the entire time.

Non-participating members of a group are welcome to spectate.
No. There may be up to 8 people in a group. Each range is designed to allow 8 people the maximum number of turns. We will never mix certain groups such as school groups, stag and hen events etc. Private sessions are available. Please call our office to find out more.
