Our full day Canoe Hire on the Llangollen canal takes place from llangollen and allows you 7 hours to explore the picturesque Llangollen Canal traveling through the Dee Valley. You will paddle through rolling hills, tranquil woodland, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Clwydian Range, however the real highlight of the trip is undoubtedly the Tunnels and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. This incredible structure spans the River Dee valley and is counted as one of the seven wonders of Wales it is over 300m long and almost 40 meters high. canoeing on the Llangollen Canal is a fantastic way to explore the beauty of Wales and appreciate the incredible engineering achievements of the past. Meet at our HQ Mile End Mill, Llangollen, LL20 8AD
This session is run entirely on the Llangollen canal.
We meet at 09.15 before dropping you at the side of the canal in Llangollen you then paddle all the way into England where we pick you up at 16.00
Wear clothes suitable for the weather imagine those if you were going for a walk.
Waterproof clothing, and suncream depending on the weather, its Wales so maybe both!
Good fitting shoes. No sandals, flip-flops or crocs.
You must have a mobile phone, please ensure this is waterproofed, we can supply cases if need be.
Personal medication – this should be suitably waterproofed if you need to have it with you at all times.
A Canoe, a super bright LED work light, up to three paddles, and up to three PFDs
You will be safety briefed and if required be given basic instruction by a qualified canoe instructor.
You do not need any previous experience for this session.
This is suitable for anyone aged 2 or over. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
All of our equipment is chosen to be fit for purpose and is safety checked. You may bring your own equipment with you but using it will be at the instructor’s discretion.
Yes. There may be other canoes launched at the same time but its just you and your canoe for the session.
It is not the aim of the session to capsize but it may happen – you will be given instructions on what to do if this does happen. In 8 years of hiring canoes we have had one accidental capsize.
Not at all, your buoyancy aid has more than enough floatation and you can stand up in most places in the canal
Yes take as many photos as you like! We also sell waterproof phone cases which are suitable to keep your phone safe and dry.
Providing your dog is well behaved and likes water, they are welcome to come
We are not insured to take dogs on our session, so you will be responsible for their safety.
