Emergency First Aid at Work EFAW

first aid

A basic first aid course suitable for people who may be required to provide first aid to someone who becomes injured or unwell in most small workplaces, or for those wanting an understanding of first aid for home and day-to-day life.

On our one day EFAW courses we aim to give learners to skills and confidence to act in an emergency.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive an emergency first aid at work certificate which is valid for three years. This course meets the requirements specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

What to Expect

This is a hands-on practical first-aid course delivered by an expert first-aid trainer with a minimum of 10 years of training experience. We run this course at our HQ in Llangollen however we can run this at your place of work if you have a team and it is more convenient.

Primarily this is a course for the workplace however it is also suitable for those just wanting to learn some first aid skills.  It is designed for organisations whose first aid assessment has identified a requirement for someone to hold a first aid at work qualification. If your assessment identifies a requirement for additional first aid training (e.g. due to having employees with a medical condition), we recommend the three day first aid at work course which teaches the skills to recognise and treat a wider range of injuries and medical conditions.

There is a minimum of six contact hours for this course. We typically run this course from 0930-15.30

Assessment is done by continuous observation and questioning throughout the course.

We will cover a huge range of common medical emergencies but the core of the session is focused on
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR

How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)

The recovery/ safe airway position

Seizures

Choking

Bleeding & bandaging

Burns

To be certificated this is suitable for those 16 and  over however training can be given to younger learners with a mature attitude please get in touch to discuss.
