In this exciting half hour, you will embrace your inner Viking and try different ways to sling an axe. Perfect your throw with a variety of different style axe throws, and compete to find out who is the champion at axe throwing in a friendly competition.

What to Expect

On this popular session, you will experience 30 minutes of indoor axe throwing. You will first meet your axe throwing instructor, who will give a full safety briefing before you are given the opportunity to try multiple ways of throwing an axe; overarm underarm and even two axes at the same time! After lots of practice, you can expect a mini competition to find out who is the champion.

Where

This activity takes place at our HQ in Llangollen. TNR Outdoors Mile End Mill Berwyn Road Llangollen North Wales LL20 8AD

What to bring

Our Llangollen ranges are inside but can get a bit cold, particularly in winter months, we would recommend bringing warm clothing.

You must wear closed toe shoes for axe throwing. No flip flops. Crocs are also unacceptable… anywhere not just axe throwing.

Who runs the session

Our target sessions are run by experienced and highly trained safe instructors with a passion for giving people a great time. Many of our axe are also raft guides, climbers, and kayakers too.

Do the axes bounce back?

We ensure that each guest has direct coaching to ensure that suitable technique and application of force is practiced. So no we do not get axes bouncing back at your head like that YouTube video from a few years back.

What age is this session suitable for?

Accompanied children from 8 years old are welcome.

Are your facilities accessible to wheelchairs?

At this time unfortunately not, there are two sets of stairs up to the ranges.

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead and under supervision. If they are barking constantly, you may be asked to remove them.

Are spectators welcome?

Non-participating members of a group are welcome to spectate.

Is this session suitable for SEND?

Yes. We host many SEND children and adults. We are also able to offer additional support where needed and can provide ear defenders to help balance louder noises. It is always best to call ahead if you have any concerns.

Is this a private session?

No. There may be up to 8 people in a group. Each range is designed to allow 8 people the maximum number of turns. We will never mix certain groups such as school groups, stag and hen events etc. Private sessions are available. Please call our office to find out more.
