Dressed in a silly Santa hat, and followed with a delicious mince pie, we will be canoeing over the tallest and longest aqueduct in the world, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct!
We will meet you at the Froncysyllte Aqueduct and kit you up with a buoyancy aid and a Santa hat!
From here, we will teach you the basics of canoeing – Then paddle up the Llangollen Canal – Paddling over the UNESCO Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (the highest and longest Aqueduct in the world!) – Experiencing the breath-taking views that the Dee Valley has to offer – And ending back at the Froncysyllte Basin with a mince pie!
Just like our Canoe Aqueduct Cruise… but more festive!
We will meet directly at the Pontcysllte Basin – there is canalside parking here but if it gets busy you can park for free at:

This is suitable for anyone aged 8 or over. All children must be accompanied by an adult, we can organise sessions for groups of children but it helps to know in advance so we can make special provisions.
All our equipment is chosen to be fit for purpose and is safety checked. You may bring your own equipment with you but using it will be at the instructor’s discretion.
We run this session to a ratio of 1:10 so there may be other people in your group. Our canoes seat 2 or three people. You will not be made to share a canoe with anyone you don’t know.
If you would like a private session, please call the office on 01978 860 700
It is not the aim of the session to capsize, particularly on the canal where the water is so calm but it may happen – you will be given instructions on what to do if this does happen and your instructor will rescue your boat and help you back in. The canal is only 3 feet deep.
Not at all, your buoyancy aid has more than enough floatation and our instructors will always help.
We sell waterproof phone cases which are suitable to keep your phone safe and dry. Your instructor may take some photos if they have the opportunity.
