Canoeing on the River Dee from Farndon to Chester is an experience that is sure to delight nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. The journey spans around 12 miles and takes approximately 4-6 hours. Starting from Farndon, which is located on the border of Wales and England, you will begin your journey downstream towards Chester.
We meet you and your group in the City of Chester and shuttle you up river to the historic Farndon bridge. Here you will be equipped with a correctly fitting buoyancy aid, a paddle and a canoe. The day is then your own as you venture down the river Dee as it slowly meanders through the stunning Cheshire countryside, quaint villages, and historic landmarks. Throughout the trip, you will be able to appreciate the beauty of the river and its surroundings. You can expect to see a variety of wildlife, including birds, fish, and insects, which add to the charm and serenity of the journey. The trip finishes off at the same meeting point in the historic Roman city of Chester, where you can head home of venture in to the city to explore its many historic sites, bars and restaurants.

£110 per canoe.

This session is run entirely on the River Dee.
We meet at 09.15 before dropping you at the side of the canal in Llangollen you then paddle all the way into England where we pick you up at 16.00
Wear clothes suitable for the weather imagine those if you were going for a walk.
Waterproof clothing, and suncream depending on the weather, its Wales so maybe both!
Good fitting shoes. No sandals, flip-flops or crocs.
You must have a mobile phone, please ensure this is waterproofed, we can supply cases if need be.
Personal medication – this should be suitably waterproofed if you need to have it with you at all times.
A Canoe, up to three paddles, and up to three PFDs
You will be safety briefed and if required be given basic instruction by a qualified canoe instructor.
You do not need any previous experience for this session.
This is suitable for anyone aged 2 or over. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Yes. There may be other canoes launched at the same time but its just you and your canoe for the session.
It is not the aim of the session to capsize but it may happen – you will be given instructions on what to do if this does happen. In 8 years of hiring canoes we have had one accidental capsize.
Not at all, your buoyancy aid has more than enough floatation and you can stand up in most places in the canal
Yes take as many photos as you like! We also sell waterproof phone cases which are suitable to keep your phone safe and dry.
